H/C
Even though the Master had been the one to push him off the radio tower in the first place, the Doctor leaned in, letting the warm cloth rub over his new flesh in ever-slower circles, until the wet fabric melted away and there was just the Master’s palm, resting there, impossibly still on his fresh skin.
Smut
The man’s auburn curls and one of his long-fingered, pale hands brushed the floor as his back was bent over the curve of the bed’s edge, and while a bearded mouth suckled at his apparently very sensitive neck he thought about how lucky he was that his husband had found him wandering around, rather than some unscrupulous cad who might’ve taken advantage of his memory loss.
UST
While their respective partners were off in the kitchen fetching the fried singing fish course, Braxiatel and the Master eyed each other, both perfectly aware of the appropriate revenge for the Doctor and Romana ever having slept together, and both perfectly relieved when Brax raised a glass and proposed the toast, “Let’s never.”

Date: 2009-01-13 05:11 pm (UTC)the AU one i love (human!doctor being the only one in a a completely empty class with the master glowering at him because he'd wanted a free period is a great idea), and the turlough one made me go ARGHAHGAHGIAHJGAI, but it ain't crack because i bet turlough really though that. but, really, when it comes down to it, the death one is the best, isn't it? why must you clone the doctor and make it so sad?
p.s. well done with those nyssa and turlough ones, btw. other characters! wahey.

Date: 2009-01-13 05:21 pm (UTC)You have seen SO MUCH WORDCOUNT of that AU that I kind of think you can't say it doesn't exist: there it is, in many many drafts and bits, all over your inbox. If you've deleted alllllll of it, that's really your own fault, isn't it? :p
AU is actually that both-human fic wherein Five and Delgado!Master are divorced math profs in like 2438. But first younger!brattier!Five is the up and coming genius student who loves Delgado!Master's work perhaps a little too much, and doesn't take 'no, no, you're like a third of my age, NO' for an answer.
*sigh* Turlough, you slag. Go wear your little shorts about it.
Doctor-is-a-clone-all-along is actually a stolen idea from that anon meme response I didn't write in the end about Master/Dr. Horrible and their 'why I turned to evol' discussion, and the Master would always be too paranoid not to wonder if he'd fucked something up, if the clone!Doctor was /exactly/ as he should be, and the kernel of doubt would torment him.
I know right?! Other people! Who knew I even paid attention to them!

Date: 2009-01-13 05:28 pm (UTC)divorced maths professors sounds GREAT too (great like braxiatel) and i love my kidnapping davison icon too. if i thought it was cool to have about 3 of them, i'd have about three of them (different ones obviously, but on that theme).
ARTHUR/MERLIN - I'M AT CHAPTER FOUR. ARGH, IT'S GREAT.

Date: 2009-01-13 05:32 pm (UTC)*sigh* Fucking brax. I'll write it...eventually... Actually writing might well cheer me up.
Um, I thought I told you allllll about that fic, but apparently I told someone else? I think I thought my human!AU plan was a bit embarrassing even though I loved it and so I didn't tell you about it. Clearly I was wrong as you also seem to find the idea fun. And now I want to watch that skit again!

Date: 2009-01-13 05:16 pm (UTC)Some of these are familiar and still awsome. UST is like a perfect little fic of its own. First Time is v. good, too! And Episode-Related - - why doesn't that fic exist yet? Nyssa and Yana is so obvious!

Date: 2009-01-13 05:27 pm (UTC)re: familiar, that's what you get for letting me spew ficbits at you. :p Brax makes everything better, I swear. And I /feel/ like I must've seen Nyssa and Yana around somewhere, but maybe it's just the obviousness talking?
...no, no I'm /sure/ I've seen it, but I can't recall where.

Date: 2009-01-13 07:52 pm (UTC)These are all very clever! My faves are the Turlough one (that saucy minx, he so would), Death (worthy of an expanded fic) and Smut (I'm picturing Jacobi!Master -- am I wrong?).

Date: 2009-01-13 08:31 pm (UTC)Man, the brig!eyebrow raise he'd get in return would be gold.
I like death b/c it almost seems v. possible to me. Why doesn't the Master just kill him? Well, because he's tried that before and it was /awful./ And no, you're right, totally Jacobi!Master playing the old 'oh poor amnesiac Doctor, did you loose your memory /again/? Why, it's me, your beloved husband!' and 'oh no, you /love/ this kinky position, you just can't remember right now, silly...' scam, because Eight looses his memory allll the damn time, and I refuse to believe the Master hasn't cottoned on. Every time Eight is properly conscious again, he promises himself that THIS time he'll keep his bloody memories intact and not shag Jacobi!Master again!

It's probably how they kicked the Eternals out. It makes me wonder what sort of supreme badassery is underlying all that dusty scholarly bumbling.

Date: 2009-01-13 08:43 pm (UTC)Oh Q. I miss you and your British-accented human companion who happened to have his own ship.
no subject
Date: 2009-01-13 09:56 pm (UTC)...That works disturbingly well. Though Q appears to be somewhat inept in recruiting his companions, possibly because of that having-own-ship issue. "Let's hang out and have adventures! :D I'll even be nice and say you can take along the rest of these idiot flunkies you've surrounded yourself with, as long as they don't annoy me or anything," is kind of a tricky sell.

Date: 2009-01-14 05:06 pm (UTC)It makes him offering to joint the Enterprise in Q Who? an interesting reversal of the companion!dynamic, and Deja Q (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9j%C3%A0_Q), where he's human and basically stuck Three!ing for an Enterprise that doesn't trust him, an interesting reversal of the companion dynamic. Plus tell me all that 'took your mental powers, made you a human and stuck you with these guys' shit doesn't sound like a 100% TL punishment.
Sadly this makes Piccard a Brig parallel, and DO NOT WANT. But he has way more natural wanderlust and curiosity about the wider universe than the dear Brig, so phew, safe from analogy.
no subject
Date: 2009-01-14 06:48 pm (UTC)I always thought a big part of the point of Picard is the way people sort of expect him to be stuffy and maybe a bit Brig-like, because of his age and controlled manner and emotional distance. But scratch the surface and he's full of impassioned speeches and ideals and, as you say, wanderlust and curiosity. And seems to be terribly attractive to inappropriate love interests. (♥)
*ponders* Now, obviously, I ship Picard/Q in a way I don't at all ship the Doctor with any of his companions. So I'm biased. But I always think of Q as being on the young side by Continuum standards, proud of his species' obvious superiority to everyone else in the universe but annoyed by their stuffiness, and wanting to rebel but not really having any idea how best to go about it. So maybe he hasn't really had companions before, and has a really awkward combination of his grandfathers' personality traits to be working with?
Because actually, Q picks up quite a few human companions over the years: he messes around with Riker's head offering him Q powers (though I figure that had a lot to do with seeing what Picard would do, too); there's Picard's old flame Vash, the unscrupulous archaelogist, who he picks up and takes off with to go adventuring with (though, again, he meets her in relation to Picard, and even after they've been travelling together long enough for Vash to get bored of adventure and fed up with him - that one DS9 episode - he's still talking about Jean-Luc at every possible opportunity). He always seems to kind of like and be friendly with Data. And then there's Janeway, who again has the problem of happening to have her own ship and not being interested in becoming his companion. (Or his girlfriend. He does overtly hit on Janeway - incredibly ineptly: he doesn't seem to have a problem being seductive with Vash or, um, Picard, which is...interesting.)
Looking at his track record, I'd say Picard kind of bowls him over, and Q spends a lot of time sort of showing off around him; he tries on other humans and eventually meets Janeway, who I think becomes a sort of Sarah Jane or Donna-ish BFF companion; he makes this ill-advised push at romance with her, which doesn't work at all, but he can come to her with his problems while he seems to be usually be trying to be wise and powerful and impressive around Picard, with mixed success.
And...I'm not sure where I'm going with this, actually, except that it's intriguing and funny as all get out, and I really want to read this story, now.

Date: 2009-01-17 02:38 pm (UTC)I like Janeway in that role, b/c she always seemed such a bizarre, crap-addition to Q canon otherwise. To be fair, he does /want/ something out of Janeway with his panto advances--something his better relationship and longer history with Picard might have easily led him to ask for there, really. And Q wouldn't have had to be such a mincing ass about it with Picard, either. 'Do you want to help me stop a war in the continuum? Yes? Genetic material, plz.' If only putting the baby before the first dates wouldn't awkward up their relationship...

The first Q ep on Voyager, with the Q who wants to die, is one of my favorite Trek eps ever. It's just brilliant, and I think it makes total sense that Q seem different interacting with Janeway, and would have a different relationship with her based on them meeting in those circumstances.
The later eps... *groans* Just...there is a WHOLE LOT that could be done with the basic war-in-heaven premise of having godlike beings suddenly capable of dying. But the way they did it? Completely lame. And I still don't understand how the f#$% a human-Q mix would've changed things, but even if it did, why then would the baby Q makes with the girl-Q have the same effect?! And...gah.
Do you want to help me stop a war in the continuum? Yes? Genetic material, plz.
Yeah, there's a fic out there that did an AU where Q wasn't able to avert the war, and it all went to hell and half the galaxy was destroyed; one of the characters makes this point, that Picard would've agreed. I think the character's theory about why Q didn't ask him was just, basically: can you see Q carrying a half-mortal child to term? Which, LOL. (Though you'd think he could've managed something.)
I do think maybe he tries to cling to his position of superiority with Picard, though - possibly because of the circumstances of their meeting, and out of not being so good with the rejection thing, so that when that crumbles he's especially needy and resentful about being needy. And Picard just doesn't know how to take that. Where with Janeway they've sort of got a somewhat more equal dynamic, because there's just not as much history or emotional involvement there.

Date: 2009-01-14 12:29 am (UTC)My favourites: AU (I can just imagine how awesome this universe is), Crossover (OMG Q! And Picard! Q and Picard!!!!!!), Fluff (Ahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awwww.), and Smut (This... escaped from the humour section, didn't it? *grins* Just the Doctor's luck that his husband is the kind of unscrupulous cad who would take advantage of his memory loss - if they're even married in this universe :P ).
no subject
Date: 2009-01-14 04:57 pm (UTC)I didn't think they were married in that universe? But man, whether or not they are, Five Times the Master Took Advantage of Eight's Memory Loss (and One Time He Didn't) is An Idea I'd Read The Shit Out Of.

Date: 2009-01-15 03:52 am (UTC)Apart for the times when Professorial!Delgado!Master is trying to seduce Fresh from Public School!Human!Five, and the times when they don't realise they're madly attracted to each other until five seconds before making out with each other over the office desk, yes. Always. *grins*
It's just that they've been married often enough in fandom that if the Master goes up to amnesiac!Eight and claims to be his husband I can't just assume that he's lying. And hey -

Date: 2009-01-17 09:04 pm (UTC)"Well, Donna seems to get her spunk from her mother, so Tegan must be from that side of the family. But how could Tegan be Australian if neither her supposed sister or father is? Maybe she married into the family. But that would cancel out the whole genetic reason for her being on Sylvia's side of the family. Maybe Wilf's first wife was Australian. That's it! She's Sylvia's half sister. But Wilf himself isn't very mouthy. Maybe Silvia's mother was the one with a previous marriage that... What is WRONG with me?"
